My journey with smart home technology started when I was 16, living in my grandparents basement. I got my first smart bulb and was immediately hooked but my grandparents didn’t share my excitement (or know how to turn it on). That didn’t stop me. Over the years, I went off to college, built my collection of smart devices, and tackled the challenges of setting them up. Eventually, in my own apartment, I had full control over my smart ecosystem, automating everything from my thermostat and lighting to smart speakers, blinds, appliances, and even my car.

 

My passion for helping others comes from my wonderful grandparents and parents, who fostered my creativity and ingenuity. As they’ve gotten older, I’ve found relief in helping them integrate smart home technology into their daily lives. Now, they can control their lights, TV, garage door, washer, dryer, and thermostat - all from their recliners. More than just convenience, it gives me peace of mind knowing they’re safer by reducing the need for unnecessary trips and movement. That’s why I started Horizon Smart Living - to make smart home technology accessible, easy to use, and tailored to each persons needs.
